Dearest Ba b,
I signed the consent form for injecting the PICC line (which is used for giving you nutrient) on your arm. When I was there in the hospital (around 12 noon), the nurse told me that the neurosurgeon would not discuss the CT scan result (the one from this morning) with me today. She was busy with other patients. So I guess I cannot get the udpdate of your situation today. But thanks God, she suddenly showed up in CCU behind my back. I was so happy to see her. Even though I didn't talk to her directly, I heard what she told the nurse to do. She asked the nurse to remove the sedative drug from you. This was a surprise to me! Because Dr. Chu told me that they would keep the sedative drug based on your CT scan result. So I was happy to hear that the neurosurgeon had made the decision to remove the sedative drug. She said that because there was no change for the brain (not getting worse), so she can try to remove the sedative drug and see how you would react to it.
At 8:30pm, I went back to CCU to visit you with your mom. The nurse told me that they took out the monitor from your brain. Now they are checking you not base on your ICP. But with the blood pressure, heart beat, and body temperature etc. They actually took out two sedative drugs (not just one). Now they keep the pain medication, the antibiotic, two medications to maintain high blood pressure and TPN (nutrient). It had been five hours since they took away the sedative drugs. Half of the drugs should flush out from your body. So when we came in to see you, we saw the following scenes:
1. You started drooling.
2. When the nurse cleaned your mouth, you opened your eyes half way.
3. The nurse allowed us to talk with you. At first, you had no response to our voice. Later I was explaining things to your mom, then we saw your eyes opened.
4. While your eyes were semi-open, I immediately showed you the greeting card that signed by brothers and sisters from church. You blinked your eyes twice. Then you closed your eyes. I guess you saw the love and care that sent from brothers and sisters (on the card).
5. I was talking to you about your coworker and you shaked your body a little bit and opened your eyes slightly.
The nurse said that you would have some response because the sedative drugs were taken away. But he reminded me that the actual waking up will depend on your brain. It may take you some more days before you really conscious.
Tonight I was so happy. They had taken away the sedative drugs. You didn't need them any more. It's a good start. I am so thankful for the prayers support from brothers and sisters to Ba b and our family. I am so thankful for God helping us through this difficult time. I will continue look upon the Lord and trust that He will give the best to Ba b and our family! Good night Ba b. I love you! See you tomorrow.
