Angela's 4/20 update on James...

Dearest Ba b,
I went to Auntie Kathy's house this afternoon (around 3pm) and took Joanna for doctor check up. Thanks God. Her skin infection has gone and the doctor just told us to continue putting Cetaphil moisture cream on her skin. I haven't seen Joanna for a week and she looked like she has grown so much. She weighs 15 lb 12 oz now (last week she weighed 14 lb 13 oz). I miss her a lot. I kept hugging her and kissing her. I am glad that she still remembers me. I told her Ba b is staying in the hospital. So I prayed with her and Auntie Kathy. We prayed that God will continue to look after you and have you recover soon.
At night around 8:50pm, I left our house and drove 45 minutes to come back to the hospital. I visited you around 9:30pm. You have opened your eyes and moved your right arm several times. Occasionally you moved your right leg. Tonight I have showed you several greeting cards from your high school friends and from church. You looked at them briefly and you closed your eyes. When I showed you a picture that I took with Joanna, you looked so emotional and tears started to come out from your eyes. I know you recognize our daughter and you really miss her. This was the first time I saw you having this kind of response. To avoid stimulate your brain too much, I put away the picture. Then you calm down again. Later, the nurse helped you to cough out liquid from your lung by pulling a line on the breathing tube. You hated it and you moved a lot to express your discomfort. I told you it would be over soon. Then you held my hand tightly with your right hand. I know it didn't feel good when the nurse pulling the line. But she was helping you to cough.
The nurse told me that they started tube feeding you again around 5pm. Your stomach worked better this time compared to last time. But you still had residual fluid in your stomach that did not get process. They will keep checking you and see if they can continue. Since they stopped the sedative drugs, your bowel movement came back. It's a good sign that your internal organs are running ok. Tomorrow, you will have another CT scan to check the condition of your brain. I prayed that it will get better. May the Lord continue to watch over you and give you strength to fight the battle! Good night Ba b!
